Studierende aus Venedig, Genf und Basel verhandeln zukunftsfähige Standpunkte in der Mode anlässlich der Konferenz "Sorting the Wardrobe – Innovation and Sustainability in Fashion" am Istituto Svizzero in Rom.
Erfordern nachhaltige technologische Innovationen einen anderen Gestaltungsprozess?
Welche Fähigkeiten braucht es, um nachhaltig gestalten zu können, und wie wirkt sich dieser Ansatz letztendlich auf die Ästhetik aus?
Vor dem Hintergrund weltweiter Debatten rund um die Modeindustrie, Umweltauswirkungen, Konsumweisen, Rassendiskriminierung und Ausbeutung der Arbeitskraft veranstaltet das Istituto Svizzero in Rom eine internationale Konferenz zu aktuellen Entwicklungen und innovativen Ansätzen im Bereich Mode.
Anlässlich der Konferenz wurde u.a. das Institut Contemporary Design Practices (ICDP) eingeladen, im Vorfeld drei Workshops mit spezifischer Sichtweise zu organisieren: Material and New Technologies (ICDP), Reframing Education Through Sustainability (HEAD–Genève), Sustainable Design and the Industry (IUAV in Partnerschaft mit Manteco).

Sourcing for sustainable materials is still considered complicated. This website serves to contribute to make sustainable material sourcing easier and to give a helping hand to the ones who want to put in the effort to work more sustainably. To make and wear designs that do not harm any human and/or animal life or the environment should not count as exceptional, exclusive or a privilege. Sustainability should not even be a discussion – it should be considered normal and therefore function as the base of everything we create.
