Habitus
The attempt to regain control by shining a light on one's own "habitus."
“Thinking in terms of boundaries presupposes that there is something beyond the boundaries that could be threatening and dangerous, and something within the boundary that allows us to live without danger. It is important for individuals to know the classifications and gradations, to know where the limits lie, because this knowledge makes them capable of action.” Haug, Frigga (1983) (ed.): Frauenformen 2. Sexualisierung der Körper, Berlin: Argument-Verlag, p. 94
This project revolves around the topics of sport and sexualization, my own clothing habits and carrying systems. It is based on a theoretical exploration of my own relationship with clothing and how it has been shaped by my growing up where sports, the outdoors and sexualization have had a significant influence. Its primary purpose is my own liberation from the restriction that exists within me and around me, which I couldn’t name and understand before.
