The elephAnt in the roOm
Cinderella runs away all the time, Norma Desmond is not young enough to keep being successful, Judy is not allowed to be herself to be loved, and Sleeping Beauty is missing all the fun. This feels like in a moVie. But what does that mean?

In my collection I reflect on my fascination with old movie classics like Alfred Hitchcock thrillers and how their romantic storytelling, including idealized cinematic role models, creates this tension with the lived indiviDual reality. There I take a closer look at everyday behavior paying particular attention to moments of disruption, inSecurity, and imPerfection. My work embraces this “oFF-ness”, using it as a strength and translating it into unConventional garments. I believe that clothing is deeply connected to the performative act which the-refore shapes my silhouettes regarding movement, posture, and expression, allowing me to amplify, reDirect, or exPose bodily actions through form and construction.

This collection challenges the conventional ideals of perfection and beauty, using fashion as a tool for self-determination and conscious presence, encouraging to take space unapologetically- proudly being the elephAnt in the roOm.
