Do you know this story?
There is this children‘s book about..
um...
he‘s like
a König, a king!
Yeah, it‘s a children‘s book about an emperor.
He loves clothes, and he always wants to have the nicest and best garments in the whole area where he lives.
Then two people come about and tell him that they‘re going to make the best and most beautiful gown for him.
His eyes light up.
They say it‘s a very special fabric and only if you are of a certain intelligence and I don‘t know, rank, you can actually see the fabric.
Those will be gorgeous dresses, he thinks and
I could tell the smart ones from the dumb ones.
And when the king goes to see how they‘re working and if they are making progress, he realizes he himself doesn‘t see the fabric.
And he‘s like,
oh shit!
I don't see the fabric.
I‘m not worthy to be a king.
He then obviously lied and said:
«It‘s so amazing what you‘re doing!»
«I love it!»
And that‘s what I love.
It‘s the narration, right?
Like, when is a pant a pant?
When is clothing considered fashion?
We actually don‘t know if we see the same thing here.
So he‘s like,
okay.
«Can you also make a T-shirt out of it?»
and
«I want a bag too!»
In the end he‘s walking through the streets in his new robe and the people are in awe.
«Oh my god, it‘s so beautiful!»
Nobody wants to be the 'stupid' one.
Like, I get it, right?!
But also, I don‘t see it.
At one point a child says:
«Hey, he‘s naked?!»
Oh!
...
Okay, true.
He‘s actually naked.
But the king was not ashamed.
She marched on with even more confidence. Because the T-shirt,
the T-shirt was actually nice.
Like, a really good fit on her.
Also, it was summer.
